The Ride Maintenance Technician is responsible for the modification, repair, and refurbishment of equipment and facilities of a designated set of amusement rides or devices. Maintenance completes preventative maintenance, testing rides, adjusting controls, diagnosing issues, and repairing system malfunctions as they occur. Job duties include conducting daily pre-opening inspections of attractions and property, diagnosing and correcting mechanical issues, responding to trouble calls urgently, maintaining the property in a clean, presentable, and safe manner, performing repairs and service as directed by manufacturers' requirements and specifications, performing preventative maintenance such as painting, battery replacement, smoke detector checks, HVAC cleaning, door/lock repair, plumbing, cleaning, drywall repair, basic carpentry, electrical repairs, and various other issues that arise. The technician schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations, utilizes proper PPE depending on the job, maintains all storage areas, shops, and mechanical areas in a clean, safe, organized, and secure manner, completes repair work orders timely, and keeps maintenance and park leaders informed of any corrective issues needed. Additional duties assigned by leadership. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 1-2 years of maintenance or mechanics experience preferred, ability to read, write, and speak fluent English, must be at least 18 years old, ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays, strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency with mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and small combustion engine repair, ability to read and comprehend maintenance manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings, and physical ability to perform various demanding tasks. Working conditions include exposure to variable weather, high noise levels, vibrations, motorized equipment, chemicals, and working at significant heights.
