Job Title: Associate Scientist

Location: Holly Springs, NC, 27540

Work Type: Hybrid (2 WFH days/month)

Duration: 1 year (possibility for extension)

Schedule: Standard business hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Position Overview:

This will be a hybrid role, candidates are required to be on-site the majority of the time, with approximately two work-from-home (WFH) days per month permitted for data processing, writing reports, etc.

Job Details:

Responsibilities:

• Perform experiments, organize data, and analyze results under minimal supervision
• Plan and conduct/monitor experiments and record results
• Analyze data and ensure reproducibility and reliability
• Ensure compliance with protocols and applicable guidelines/regulations
• Transfer experimental methods from literature and modify as necessary
• Develop and implement protocols (moderate review level)
• Engage in scientific discussions with coworkers
• Communicate data interpretations within workgroup
• Develop systems to ensure data quality
• Use standard laboratory equipment and major instruments/techniques
• Troubleshoot equipment and experimental issues
• Contribute to reports, presentations, regulatory documents, and patents
• Support department-wide efforts (safety, recruiting, committees)
• Perform and support in-house sample management
• May train or supervise others
• Coordinate resources and manage tasks
• Make independent judgments and know when to seek input

Skills:

• Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or Analytical Chemistry
• Experience in biopharmaceutical environments

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of experience
• OR Master’s Degree
• OR Associate Degree and 4 years of experience
• OR High School Diploma / GED and 6 years of experience

Top 3 Must-Have Skill Sets

1. Chromatography experience (including use of Empower)
2. Strong documentation skills with a focus on compliance
3. Flexibility and multitasking

Nice to Have:

• Experience with in-house sample management

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Buffer preparation
• Glassware washing and general housekeeping
• Performing liquid chromatography and capillary electrophoresis methods
• Documenting results in electronic lab notebook and data verification
• Conducting in-house sample management
