Operations Maintainer

Scope of Position:
The Operations Maintainer plays a key role in ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of public spaces and offices within the museum. This position is also responsible for setting up and breaking down tables, chairs, and other event-related equipment for special events. Operations Maintainers report to the Operations Supervisor.

• Maintain restrooms, break areas, meeting rooms, and non-public areas of the museum.
• Set up event spaces according to floor plans, including arranging tables, chairs, and equipment.
• Dismantle event setups at the conclusion of events.
• Move, arrange, and set up office furniture as needed.
• Sweep and mop floors, including the use of floor care equipment when necessary.
• Clean both horizontal and vertical surfaces, including doors and glass.
• Collect and properly dispose of trash from all museum areas.
• Separate recyclable materials from non-recyclables and dispose of them accordingly.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Ability to follow detailed instructions from supervisors.
• Capability to walk, climb stairs, and stand for up to six-hour shifts.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and up to 80 lbs with assistance.
• Strong reading and writing skills for reporting when necessary.
• Willingness to learn and apply safety procedures in all job duties.
• Proficiency in operating cleaning equipment after training.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and additional shifts as needed.
• Availability for daytime training shifts.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
