As a Special Education Teacher , you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our students by developing adaptive lesson plans that align with their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and state standards.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Lesson Plan Development: Craft engaging lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning needs, ensuring alignment with IEP goals and general education standards.
• Supervision of Paraprofessionals: Lead and guide paraprofessionals in the classroom, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
• Implementation of PBIS Program: Manage our Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) program, tracking behavior points and maintaining communication with parents.
• Classroom Management: Create a safe and engaging classroom atmosphere that prioritizes student learning and well-being.
• IEP Meetings and Documentation: Attend IEP meetings, prepare updates, and maintain comprehensive documentation to track student progress and ensure compliance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with staff and external agencies to provide the best educational experience for each student.
• Assistive Technology: Support the use of assistive technology to enhance learning opportunities for students.
• Instructional Planning: Design learning experiences based on data and conduct assessments to inform instruction.
• Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training and development to enhance your skills and knowledge in special education.

What We’re Looking For:

• Education & Credentials:
  • Arizona Department of Education Standard Professional Special Education Teaching Certificate or Special Education Endorsement.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Special Education is highly preferred.
• Clearances:
  • DOJ/FBI Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • TB Clearance.
• Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • 2-5 years of experience working with students with learning and/or social-emotional needs.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in standard software applications and internet usage.

Physical Demands:

• Environment: Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes.
• Activity: Frequent tasks involving reaching, handling, standing, walking, and lifting items, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Sensory: Ability to perform essential job functions in moderate to high noise levels, with or without assistive devices.
